Job Details
This post is within the Shared Service Centre Recruitment Team and is specifically required to deal with PVG applications to Disclosure Scotland and the associated work to help Fife Council make safe decisions when employing or engaging anyone in a role working with vulnerable adults or children; you will act as a registered countersignatory authorised to verify and approve applications for all disclosure and PVG checks as well as ongoing monitoring. The work will involve using Fife Council’s IT systems such as Oracle Cloud, SharePoint, Microsoft Office as well as Disclosure Scotland’s online system. You will manage your daily tasks within a busy working environment with tight deadlines.
On 1 April 2025 the disclosure system in Scotland changed and significant work is being undertaken within Fife Council to comply and improve. The post is temporary initially to help with the workload and until the ongoing requirement is known.

While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.
The Person
You should be a motivated and enthusiastic individual as this post is part of a fast moving, challenging, continually changing environment. A high level of accuracy is required due to the nature of the role as is the ability to work within a dynamic team environment, maintaining confidentiality in line with the Data Protection Act.
Competent IT skills are essential preferably in the systems used by Fife Council. The ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to changing demands will be necessary with the skill to prioritise workload and manage time effectively. You should have a flexible attitude to work and change.
You should hold 4 qualifications at intermediate 2 level or above or equivalent in a business/customer service subject that would demonstrate the standard of work required for the role. Relevant previous experience would also be considered. This post is subject to a level 1 disclosure check which will be undertaken by Disclosure Scotland.
