The National Health Fellowship Program has begun sending out virtual interview invitations to
applicants across the country. To prepare effectively:
Technical and Environmental Preparation
- Ensure your Google Meet app is updated.
- Fully charge your phone and keep a charger or power bank nearby.
- Stay in a quiet place with good lighting.
- Join the interview link at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time.
- Have active data bundles on two different networks in case one fails.
- Maintain honesty, clarity, and confidence throughout the interview.
Likely Interview Questions and How to Respond
- Tell us about yourself.
State your full name, origin, education, relevant experience, and highlight any
accomplishment connected to health, leadership, or community service.
- Why do you want to become a National Health Fellow?
Mention your passion for strengthening the primary healthcare system, improving
service delivery, expanding your leadership capacity, and creating sustainable
community impact.
- Have you ever led any community development project?
Refer to any project you led or participated in (NYSC, volunteer work, community
mobilization). State the project type, location, date, stakeholders involved, and
measurable impact.
- How would you contribute to the program’s mission if selected?
Emphasize community engagement, data-driven decision-making, strengthening PHC
operations, supporting health campaigns, and improving health service uptake.
- What digital tools are you comfortable with for reporting?
Mention tools such as Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms), KoboCollect, ODK, WhatsApp
reporting channels, Excel, or any relevant M&E tools you know.
- How would you handle non-compliance during an immunization campaign?
Explain that you would use interpersonal communication skills, community mobilization,
local influencers (traditional/religious leaders), address
myths, provide accurate information, and escalate persistent cases to supervisors.
