Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Customer Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting shoppers, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Fluency in multiple languages such as English and Spanish is highly desirable to cater to our diverse customer base. Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and offer assistance throughout their shopping journey
  • Provide product information and answer customer queries accurately
  • Upsell products and promote ongoing promotions to maximise sales opportunities
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure attractive product displays
  • Operate the cash register efficiently, handling transactions with professionalism and courtesy
  • Manage stock levels, restock shelves, and organise products for easy access
  • Utilise phone etiquette skills when communicating with customers over the phone or via email
  • Assist in organising store layouts and promotional events to enhance the shopping environment
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the sales floor at all times
  • Support team members during busy periods to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction

Experience

  • Previous experience in retail or customer service is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
  • Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is a plus
  • Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team and independently when required
  • Familiarity with merchandising principles and upselling techniques is beneficial
  • Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse customers effectively
