At The Designer’s CFO, we help interior designers profit more and work less by taking care of their bookkeeping, so they can focus on what they do best: designing beautiful spaces.
As our Account Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting both our clients and our team. This role blends hands-on bookkeeping oversight with client communication and quality control. You’ll ensure financials are accurate, client questions are answered, and our bookkeeping team is supported to deliver excellent service – on time, every time. Key Responsibilities
Client Communication
- This is a client facing role.
 - Manage client interactions through email and scheduled meetings (monthly, quarterly, or as needed) to review financials, discuss KPIs, and answer questions.
 - Be available for video calls within core business hours (10am -3pm EST) and maintain a professional, distraction-free work environment.
 - Record Loom videos for clients.
 
Quality Control
- Oversee and review bookkeepers’ month-end close and full cycle bookkeeping process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
 
Reporting
- Compile, review, and send financial reports, ensuring clients have clear, accurate insights into their business.
 
Team Support
- Provide oversight, feedback, and quality assurance for bookkeepers’ work.
 - Answer team questions in ClickUp Chat and ensure deadlines are met.
 
Process Improvement
- Assist in developing SOPs, refining workflows, and supporting system improvements.
 
Collaboration
- Participate in weekly team meetings and coworking office hours to stay aligned and connected.
 
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years in a client-facing role with oversight of bookkeepers’ work, providing review, feedback, and quality assurance.
 - QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification.
 - Strong bookkeeping knowledge, including reconciliations, financial reporting, payroll, and sales tax.
 - Understanding of and experience with accrual accounting.
 - Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend solutions.
 - Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; confident on video calls and screen-recorded Loom updates.
 - Reliable computer, high-speed internet, and a distraction-free remote workspace suitable for client video meetings.
 - Ability to pass a background check.
 - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
 
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Quickbooks Online, Double (Formerly Keeper), ClickUp, Google Workspace, Loom, and Quo (Formerly OpenPhone) is a bonus! (training provided).
 - An interest in interior design or the creative industry
 - Experience with Studio Designer, Houzz, or Design Files

Work Environment & Availability
- Time zone: Operates in Eastern Time.
 - Core availability: 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. EST for client meetings and team collaboration.
