REPORTS TO: ASSISTANT PRACTICE MANAGER/ Docman Lead
HOURS: Monday to Friday : 9am or 9.30am to 2pm or 2.30pm cover for annual leave and sick leave
Job summary:
Provide general admin assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Job responsibilities:
- Assisting clinical coder with entering and coding information on system from all discharge summaries, clinic letters, A&E discharge summaries and new patient notes
- Assisting with summarising new patient records
- Assisting with coding results – bowel and breast screening
- Assisting with processing econsult requests and cover for reception team lunchtimes for team meetings
- Supporting reception team and prescription team with cover as required
- Other admin tasks as directed
- Carry out all reception duties which include answering the telephone, dealing with general enquiries, booking appointments, explaining surgery procedures and filtering calls to Doctors, nurses etc.
- Process patient registrations as per protocol
- Process Emis and Docman tasks from GPs
- Evening staff to secure the building at night ensuring that all windows are shut, blinds down, computers logged off and doors locked before setting the security alarm.
- Supporting GPs with processing repeat prescription requests as per protcol.
- Complete mandatory modules on Bluestream e-learning.
To meet the changing needs and development of the Practice it may be necessary from time to time, to amend and revise your job description. Changes will comply with current procedures and regulations. You will be consulted if changes become necessary.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21 per hour

- Andover: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Medical Receptionist: 1 year (preferred)
