Are you passionate about making a difference for children and families? We are looking for a Family Support Worker to join our Permanency Team within Children’s Services – Safeguarding & Services to Children and Young People.
About the Role
As a Family Support Worker, you will:
- Provide direct support to children, parents, and carers as part of assessments, plans, and reviews.
- Deliver Life Story Work to help children understand their early experiences in a creative and empathetic way.
- Support Special Guardianship Order (SGO) families, ensuring they have access to responsive, specialised support.
- Work closely with Private Law social workers and Case Progression Officers on private law tasks, liaising with courts and updating case systems.
- Empower parents/carers to meet their children’s needs and help keep children safe through effective planning.
What We’re Looking For
- A self-motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, based on family needs.
- Experience of working in partnership with other agencies as part of a ‘team around the family’.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
